Flux Theatre: Accepting Short Plays for EMERGE #4

Flux Theatre is seeking short plays between 20-25 minutes long (either standalone or part of a longer piece) to form part of their EMERGE event at the Bunker Theatre.

EMERGE is a platform that gives four emerging writers, directors and a company of actors the opportunity to collaborate/showcase their work to the industry.

Plus each writer receives mentorship from some of the industries top creatives (see PAST EVENTS page for previous mentors).

Previous industry attendees include:

Royal Court, Theatre 503, Arcola Theatre, Soho Theatre, Oberon Books, Nick Hern Publishing, Finborough Theatre, Underbelly, Bush Theatre, Red Planet TV.

Literary Agents include:

Curtis Brown, Cassarotto, Troika, Knight Hall.

Previous EMERGE writers have had their work staged at:

Hampstead Theatre Downstairs, The Bunker Theatre, Camden Peoples Theatre, VAULT Festival, Old Red Lion, Theatre 503, Arcola Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Theatre N16.

ON THE NIGHT

After the four pieces have been performed, there’s an interval, followed by a feedback session. Will Adolphy (Joint AD Flux), the director, the writer and the mentor of each piece sit down for a brief informal discussion. This is where the audience get a chance to briefly hear from the writer and we can gage the immediate response of the room.

How to apply

Full details of how to apply can be found on Flux Theatre’s website.
