Durham Student Theatre are looking for 5 minute monologues

Durham Student Theatre are currently running an original monologue initiative called ‘Theatre Alive’ and they’d love you to contribute!

They’d like writers to submit a monologue of up to five minutes (roughly between 1-3 pages) on any topic that can be self-filmed by an actor at home. These will then be shared across all DST pages and social media to try and fill the gap that the pandemic has left in all of our theatre going lives.

The actors will be current students and it’s a great way of trying out work or writing for a very particular age range of actors!! Currently it’s an unpaid opportunity, but they’re looking into paying writers and actors so will update if so! However, as a scratch opportunity it’s brilliant (see the Durham Student Theatre page for current examples!)

To register interest, or to ask any questions, please email Issy at dst.workshops@durham.ac.uk and state whether you’d like to write or even act! They’d love to have people on board!!

Deadline: rolling deadline
