Introductory Writers’ Groups at the Royal Court

The Introductory Writers’ Groups are opportunity for writers with little or no experience and lots of raw talent to think more deeply about writing for theatre alongside a group of their peers, guided by experienced produced playwrights.

The group meets one evening per week for eight weeks and the content of the sessions is determined by the particular passions of the playwright leading the group. We will run two groups between September 2020 and March 2021. Each group is a space for writers to think about their voice and see it in the wider context of theatre, past, present and future.

At the end of the group, writers are invited to submit a play and offered detailed feedback from the playwright leading the group and the literary team.
