IdeasTap Quarterly Editor’s Brief: Family (£250 prize)

IdeasTap is currently running its quarterly editor’s brief, open to artists from all disciplines, on the subject of FAMILY.

The brief:

“They f**k you up; you can’t choose them; and happy ones, apparently, are all alike.

For this month’s Editor’s Brief, we’re asking you to go back to your roots and examine ideas about FAMILY – their ties, tensions, trees, secrets and feuds. As many of us contemplate returning home for Christmas, give us your take on a topic that has inspired every form of art, from Medea to Arrested Development.

Submit your creative work on the theme of “family” – whether that’s writing, visual art/photography, audio or video. Have as much fun as you want with the theme – we’re looking for originality, talent and creativity.”

The prizes:  There will be a first (£250), second (£100) and third (£50) prize in EACH of the following categories:

  1. Audio and video (no longer than two minutes)
  2. Writing (no longer than 1,000 words)
  3. Visual art/photographs (no more than two)

All first-prize winners will become part of our alumni. Please note that you can only apply with one entry to one category

How to apply:  Applications can be made via the IdeasTap brief.  (Note: you will need an IdeasTap profile in order to apply.)

Deadline:  30 January 2015 at 5pm
