Lungs Project accepting proposals for written work on theme “Visions of Home”

Lungs Project is now accepting proposals for new works to be published in the fourth issue of their annual magazine. This open call themed “Visions of Home” is aimed at early-career photographers (or artists working with lens-based media), poets and writers from the African diaspora specifically. Autumn issue of Lungs Magazine will comprise of photo essays contemplating upon a multitude of visions of home; past, present or future. All work featured in this issue will be newly commissioned and created in collaborative pairs.

Each selected contributor will receive a fee a $150 (or equivalent in GBP) to create new photographic works or text.

How to apply?

Please visit www.lungsproject.org/submissions and fill out the form with the info below:

• Writers and poets — Blog or website links which we can access your previous writings. Unpublished writers can share a pdf of sample works on Google Drive.

• A brief paragraph outlining how you would approach the theme. We don’t expect you to send us a complete proposal as this will be developed in collaboration with another contributor.

• A short biography.

Deadline: 30 April, midnight EST.
