Opportunities: Our Pick of the Week – Little Pieces of Gold seeking 10 Minute plays on the Subject of ‘Home’

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick:  Little Pieces of Gold seeking 10 Minute plays on the Subject of ‘Home’

Description:Little Pieces of Gold is looking for ten minute plays on the subject of ‘Home’ for their July 3rd production at Southwark Playhouse.Your play could relate to security, financial investment or sense of place, or maybe identity and psychological well-being.

Little Pieces of Gold is a writing company established in 2010 by artistic director, Suzette Coon. It aims to discover, nurture and develop new writing from emerging playwrights and to engage new and diverse audiences from across the UK.

So, what’s so great about it? Little Pieces of Gold is a writing company established in 2010 by artistic director, Suzette Coon, since then it has gained a great reputation – plus the winning scripts get a performance at the Southwark Playhouse this July. If you feel fancy taking a break from that full length play you’re working on and writing a ten minute play to a brief, then this one could be perfect for you. This time round, they are accepting scripts on the theme of ‘home’ but you’re free to interpret it how ever you want so whilst it’s a great starting point, you needn’t feel too restricted. Good luck!
