Papatango and The Spring Arts Centre: Free playwriting course for Hampshire based writers

Are you a budding playwright based in Hampshire? Papatango are partnering with The Spring Arts Centre in Havant to offer a very special playwriting course from January – May 2019 – and it’s completely free!

18 writers will be selected take part in workshops on all the key elements of playwriting, becoming part of a writing network, and completing their own brand new play.

How it works: The dates of the workshops will be on Saturdays 12 January, 9 February, 16 March and 13 April. One of the plays will then be picked for a staged reading at The Spring with a professional cast in the Langstone Room on Saturday 25 May, completely free for a local audience.

How to apply: if you are available on these dates, near to Havant, and want to hone your playwriting skills, please email participate@papatango.co.uk with the subject line: “[Your Name] Havant Writers’ Course” and a 200 word letter explaining why you’d like to take part. No prior experience is necessary, but theywould like to know what you hope to gain from the course and what kind of story you’d like to tell.
