Did something catch your eye in the news over the last few weeks? Is there something happening in your country or town of birth that you think the world should know about?
In their words:
“We want to hear from you! Some People Productions are running their second quick-writing response magazine-theatre night at London’s Bread and Roses Theatre, where the news comes alive on stage. Following on from our last sold out run, we’re looking for stories that are related to global news events. A play influenced by a recent housing protest? Or a monologue by the Queen to Donald Trump? First and foremost, we’re looking for great stories and great theatre. Secondly, it has to relate somewhat to something happening in the world today.
Our tip: steer away from brother/sister rivalry or husband/wife relationships (unless that’s Macron and Brigitte!)”
Plays must be:
-
No longer than 15 minutes
-
4 actors max
-
Minimal set (chairs/table max)
-
Please mention if you have actors and a director attached – but do apply even if you don’t because we’re keen to provide a platform for new and relevant writing so we can help you with that if we love your script!
-
Tech will be provided for the shows (on the 6th/7th September, so keep these days free)
