Writer in Residence required for Lit Up! Festival (Poole)

Lit Up! and Poole Libraries are delighted to announce they are seeking to appoint a freelance Writer in Residence to work with libraries, staff and visitors in the summer of 2016. It’s envisaged the successful candidate will deliver workshops that interact with current library initiatives, such as Summer Reading Challenge (http://www.poole.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/libraries/children-and-family/summer-reading-challenge/)  and the Read Ahead Scheme and be willing to creatively engage with libraries to produce new work reflective of the residency.

As well as being a talented writer, the Writer in Residence will be a confident speaker and advocate for the pleasures of reading and writing.

An honorarium of £1500 accompanies the position, based on a commitment of one day per week over a three-month period.

This is an excellent portfolio opportunity for a writer to raise their public profile and gain valuable experience working in an environment that supports a diverse community.

Applicants are requested to submit a C.V. of relevant experience along with a statement of approx. 200 words detailing what they can bring to and gain from the experience. For further information, a person specification, and to apply, please email info@litupwriting.co.uk

Deadline: 24 June 2016
