Tanika Gupta and Maxine Peake are among the judges for a £12,000 prize for female playwrights.
The Women’s Prize for Playwriting is being launched by Paines Plough in partnership with Ellie Keel Productions.
The winner will receive £12,000 towards a production of their play, with EKP and Paines Plough owning the first option to co-produce it for 12 months, after which the rights revert to the winner.
Other judges for the award include literary agent Mel Kenyon, actor and writer Monica Dolan and outgoing artistic director of Manchester’s Royal Exchange Sarah Frankcom.
Submissions will open on November 11 and close on March 2, 2020.
