Over the course of Eastside’s weekend of Screenwriting, ten young writers aged 18-24 will explore the theme of an imbalanced world and creatively sculpt a concept and stories based on this theme. These workshops will be delivered by industry professionals, include a panel discussion full of advice and tips in the industry in addition to exploring, responding and experimenting with the brief itself.
After the workshops each writer will work independently to submit their 10-minute script, after which four writers will be invited to take forward their ideas through further mentoring, in script-development and will enter pre-production with the Project 50/50 Film Crew in August. Those scripts not taken forward on Project 50/50 will be considered for future Eastside Filmmaking projects and the writers will eligible to apply for additional learning opportunities with Eastside.
