Playwright Martin Malcolm leads a dynamic workshop on how to craft a powerful short script. Learn where story ideas come from, how to structure them and how to turn them into compelling drama. The day includes a mixture of practical techniques and research excursions, as well as time to share your ideas and to write. You’ll find out what to do with your finished script, where to send it and where to find the best new writing nights to help you break into the theatre scene.
Martin’s plays include Icarus (Southwark Playhouse), Diggers (Theatre 503), Drifters (Bike Shed Theatre), NightFlyer (Tristan Bates Theatre), Kingdom of the Icebear (Rondo Theatre), Tiramisu (Wardrobe Theatre) and Warped (Arts Theatre). He’s currently writing Sea of Tranquillity for Baroque Theatre, about the first woman on the Moon. His work is supported by the Peggy Ramsay Foundation.
