The Cheshire Prize for Literature 2021 is now open with a theme of sustainability, open to all genres (short stories, children’s literature, scriptwriting and poetry), and for the first time ever they are encouraging children to enter as well. They are delighted to be in partnership with Storyhouse again.
This year they are introducing a children’s competition and want to encourage all ages from four to 100 to be creative. Please see below for age groups and which category is open to each age group.
Age range:
4 – 7: Poetry and Short Stories
8 – 10: Poetry and Short Stories
11-13: Poetry and Short Stories
14-16: Poetry, Short Stories and Scriptwriting
17-18: Poetry, Short Stories and Scriptwriting
19-24: All categories
25 and over: All categories
One winner from each category and a prize will be awarded to each category as well as the opportunity to be selected to appear in the Anthology, published by University of Chester Press.
The competition is open to anyone who has lived, worked or studied in Cheshire (including Wirral and Halton).
