COMMON GROUND is an inclusive, supportive discussion exclusively aimed at artists who self-identify as working-class. This event will offer a platform for working-class artists based in Glasgow and the surrounding areas to discuss the barriers to career progression they face in UK theatre, and offer their suggestions of opportunities which could be created to help artists overcome these barriers.
Participants will take part in a supportive discussion contributing to the dialogue between the Tron Theatre and COMMON about how to effectively support working-class artists in this region.
“COMMON is an arts organisation which exists to support the UK theatre industry in achieving greater socio-economic diversity, and help artists from working-class backgrounds build sustainable careers in theatre. We are an inaugural Associate Company of English Touring Theatre, collaborating with them to outreach our work across the UK and support the nationwide development of working-class artists. We are also proud to receive support from esteemed, working-class Patrons including Olivier award-winning playwright James Graham.”
