Accelerator is a 3-year Imaginate project offering mentoring, producing support and performance opportunities for artists to create new theatre and/or dance works in progress for young audiences.
Accelerator (new writing) is a new strand of Accelerator that will offer producing and artistic support for playwrights to develop writing for young audiences in partnership with the Traverse Theatre. The project will culminate with a performance of a rehearsed reading for the Accelerator artist as part of a Traverse Theatre festival of new writing in November 2019. The selected writer(s) will receive a budget to include a rehearsed reading commission for their own writing time, rehearsal space and time with professional actors to workshop the script as it develops and to prepare for the Traverse rehearsed reading.
