Golden Lane Films seeking screenwriter for Big Picture short film project

Big Picture is a film and training opportunity for actors, composers, production designers, and writers. It involves creating a short film, from scratch, in just ONE week. It will all culminate in a screening at Rich Mix Cinema in Shoreditch in February 2014.

Golden Lane Films are taking part in Big Picture, and will race against the clock to create the short film. To be able to do this, they are looking for actors, composers, production designers, and writers to join the team.

GLF are looking to assemble a fearless team of collaborators – this challenge is not for the faint hearted. This is an ambitious project and GLF need artists who are confident enough to make bold decisions, while remaining flexible.

About the project:  Golden Lane Films needs a writer familiar with short film format, who is sensitive to the unique challenges this medium brings.

You will be presented with a set design, a cast, and 24 hours in which to complete a first draft for the short film. All members of the team will be mentored by an industry professional. As a writer, you will receive expert mentoring from an established production writer.

How to apply:  Applications can be made via the IdeasTap Brief.  (Note: you will need to create an IdeasTap profile in order to apply.)

To apply, you’ll need to send us two examples of your previous writing work (maximum 15 pages each). At least one of your samples must be written for screen. You should also send a CV which includes a short biog.

A short list of applicants will be invited to interview, and final selections will be made in January.

Terms and conditions:  Successful applicants MUST be available for the whole week of the project 9 to 16 February 2014, plus a company meeting the week before. Date TBC.

This challenge is generously supported by IdeasTap, Creative Space and working in partnership with the Roundhouse.

Deadline:  Friday 31 January 2014 at 5pm
