New Vic Education seeks a writer to work alongside their team. You will co-deliver their Live Age Connects programme with a group of older people in Stoke on Trent. Live Age Connects and Live Age Festival are funded by the Big Lottery Building Connections Fund. Live Age celebrates later life as a time of creativity.
You will plan and co-deliver these sessions with the New Vic Education team, supported by volunteers. You will have a track record of co-creating work with community groups and an approach which brings out the creative potential of the local community.
The programme contains 30 sessions, commencing July 2019. The programme runs until April 2020 following school terms. The fee is £3,750 (incl VAT and materials) with additional allowance for travel expenses. You will also contribute to their evaluation.
This new project aims to ensure that people feel valued, will have the opportunity to express their creativity, and will be able to engage with other people in their communities as they move through older age. It builds on work by the New Vic Theatre which includes Ages & Stages Theatre Company (for older people), and the annual Live Age Festival.
The successful applicant will be experienced in delivering workshops in their art-form, open to working inclusively with members of different communities, and open to developing their personal practice in conjunction with our team. They encourage applications from artists working locally and regionally.
To apply, please send:
