Chronic Insanity seeking new writing

Chronic Insanity is a newly formed theatre company based in Nottingham.

By doing 12 shows in 12 months, they plan to contribute significantly to the live performance scene in Nottingham and develop a huge amount as theatre makers. They are also going to be using sustainable theatre making practices, recording their performances in regular and 360 degree video formats, creating new opportunities for other creatives to get their work on, and documenting the whole process for others to learn from.

What they are doing:

Calling all playwrights, authors, poets or anyone who ever fancied themselves a writer! As they are doing #12shows12months, they realised it would be a) idiotic and b) slightly selfish to do all those productions themselves. They want to provide an opportunity for writers to have a piece of their writing, be it a traditional three act play or an experimental exploration of a niche art form, supported, facilitated and eventually presented as a production that will run in March 2020 in Nottingham.

The winner of this competition will have the opportunity to develop their writing with Chronic Insanity – they will work with you to provide a space, a cast and a creative team for your piece. The winner will also have the opportunity to workshop and develop their writing in scratch nights throughout the year. By entering this competition you will receive feedback for your piece of writing.

So write away, please send all script submissions to chronicinsanityscripts@gmail.com along with your name and location! They accept all abilities and subject matter. Best of luck!

Deadline: 30 September 2019 at midnight
