Imaginary Advice is an experimental storytelling podcast, produced by Ross Sutherland. Starting in 2014, it won the British Podcast Award for Fiction and was listed as one of the “10 Fiction Podcasts That Shaped the Genre” by vulture.com. To date, Imaginary Advice has had over 70k downloads, attracting audiences from poetry, theatre, radio and film.
What they are looking for: a guest writer who is new to Ross to collaborate on an 30-minute episode on a subject of their choice.
This episode would either be something written entirely by the guest writer (with editorial help from Ross), or something written collaboratively between the guest writer and Ross.
They are looking to work with any UK based writer/ performer who wants to work on an audio digital format. You need to be a brilliant writer/ raconteur, someone with an open mind, and a collaborative attitude. You’ll probably have some experience of doing stand up/ performance poetry/ theatre and be comfortable in your own voice. You’ll be up for trying new ways of working, writing and playing around with style and form.
They are looking for a good idea and someone who can talk with ease. You don’t need to be well known or have a fully formed idea. They encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
