Opportunities – Pick of the Week: Plays Rough London open call for short plays on theme ‘Factual and Fantasy’

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: Plays Rough London open call for short plays on theme ‘Factual and Fantasy

Description: Plays Rough London are calling for short plays (between 0 and 15 minutes) on the theme of ‘Factual and Fantasy’. Selected scripts will be part of the new-writing night: ‘Plays Rough London Presents: Factual and Fantasy’ performed at the Old Red Lion Pub Theatre on Monday 16th March 2020.

What’s so great about it? Since they founded in 2026, Plays Rough have produced no less than 60 short plays across twelve different events and projects, so you’ll be good hands if you submit your short play to them! They are looking for works that take risks and try to be spectacular, not safe which we think is a great mantra for your writing in 2020! If you can come up with a short play on the theme of ‘Factual and Fantasy’ by January 31st then make sure you apply.
