INCUBATE – opportunity for working class playwrights to receive support (paid £875)

The Pleasance Theatre Trust and Theatre Common have partnered to launch INCUBATE, providing vital support to 4 working class playwrights through giving them the time, money & space needed to explore a new concept / script.

Who is eligible?
  • You must identify as a working-class playwright.

  • The work you are proposing must not yet have been produced in a full / professional production.

  • Your proposed concept or script must be a piece of writing for the theatre.

What they offer?
  • A combined seed commission / development fee of £875 for each participating writer.

  • Access to free rehearsal and development space at Pleasance Islington.

  • An evening in our StageSpace studio to share a script-in-hand reading with an invited audience, if that would be beneficial

  • Feedback on your script, at any stage of its development, from a panel of industry professionals.

  • Industry mentoring and support from COMMON and Pleasance Theatre.
