Freedom Studios are looking for a Lead Tutor for its flagship writer development programme Street Voices 9 – for writers with some experience of playwriting.
Fee: £2,000 x 10 sessions (including planning)
When: 10 sessions to take place at Kala Sangam, Bradford, 10.30am-2.30pm. Opportunity for a combination of in-person and on-line delivery tbc.
Dates/Time: October 2022 – mid April 2023 with 2 evenings of rehearsed readings/sharings of 10-12 minute plays by 8 writers.
● Provisional dates for the ten sessions to be picked from are: Oct 8th, 22nd, 5th, 19th Nov, 3rd, 17th Dec 2022, Jan 14th& 21st, Feb 18th & 25th, final session 4th March.
● Showcase: Sat-Sun April 8th – 9th or Sat 15th -16th April 2023
General:
● The Lead Tutor will be provided with an overview of content for the programme (i.e. fundamentals of playwriting) and be supported throughout. The Lead Tutor will have the opportunity to deliver the content in their own creative way.
● There will be a budget for a theatre visit and any course material needed to deliver the course eg playscript
What we are looking for:
A writer with a strong background in theatre who is able to plan and deliver engaging sessions in the fundamental aspects of writing for stage, who is friendly and approachable and can provide support and encouragement to writers attending the programme.
