You’ll cover voice: comedy, politics and having an ‘angle’, structure, theatricality: trauma, dreams and ghosts, dramaturgy: rewriting, rigour and logistics.
With Lisa, you’ll look at approaches to interrogating and rewriting your work to ensure it is as watertight as possible. You’ll also discuss how plays are developed and address ‘career’ questions. Each workshop will be a mixture of discussion and tailored writing exercises. Participants are encouraged to write a first draft of a play alongside the course.
