The 2022 Cheshire Prize for Literature is now accepting entries in all four genres (short stories, scriptwriting, children’s literature and poetry). There is no theme, writers are free to write about anything that inspires them.
The competition is open to anyone who has lived, worked or studied in Cheshire (including Wirral, Warrington and Halton) from the age of four and above.
Scriptwriting should be a maximum 15 minute playscript.
Short stories should be a maximum of 1500 words
Poetry should be a maximum of 100 lines
Children’s literature should be aimed at 7-14 year olds and can be a story or poetry adhering to the word limits above.
You can enter a maximum of two categories but can only enter one entry in each category.
The closing date is January 31st 2023.
