Writing for Performance Workshops with Laura McCluskey

Writing for Performance

Do you have some experience as a writer but find yourself isolated and lacking in the motivation to keep writing? Would you like to develop and explore writing for performance?

Would you value the time and space to connect regularly with other writers in a stimulating, creative  environment?

Witness each others’ work in a safe space, partly online with some sessions face to face,  where you will also be challenged to develop your work.

⋆ Share work, ideas

⋆ Try new approaches, methodologies

⋆ Read, see and discuss plays

⋆ Work to deadlines, with expectations to produce work

⋆ Witness readings of your work by experienced actors

Laura McCluskey is a playwright/director/tutor/mentor and former Education Manager at The Royal Court and Clean Break, currently mentoring writers at Central School of Speech and Drama on the MA/MFA courses.
After reading/hearing participants work, Laura is very skilled at identifying the opportunities for development. Laura has a wide range of skills from many years of working with some of our most talented and successful writers and artists, observing them in the rehearsal room, interviewing them about their process and doing writing courses with them, as a facilitator/manager and as a participant.

Laura is passionate about introducing new ways to try things out, sharing work, giving feedback, all to aid the development and refinement of the work and with it the confidence of participants.
