Free Turn and Screen Yorkshire have launched LOOP; the UK’s first audio drama fund, offering paid development for writing talent living in, or from, the North of England.
What is LOOP?
LOOP is a five-month paid (part-time) initiative, where a talented panel of industry professionals from Free Turn, Screen Yorkshire and the wider scripted audio industry will work with ten selected writers, putting them through an audio-first development programme.
Who can apply?
- Writers from any and all backgrounds with a great idea for Audio Drama.
- You’ll have written a novel, short stories, theatre, a screenplay, TV, a game or even an audio drama before. If you don’t yet have a writing credit or published pieces, you’ll need to demonstrate previous experience of working professionally with narrative, story development or scripts.
- Writers aged 18 or over by the closing date for applications
- Writer who either live, work or are originally from the North of England.
You must be available for the key dates for the programme (from August – December 2023) and fully commit to all of them at the time of accepting your place.
