The Northern Exposure: Short Film Script Lab is accepting short film ideas

The Northern Exposure: Short Film Script Lab is back, taking place this year from June – November. The Script Lab is an opportunity for up to ten emerging writers to develop a short film from an early idea to a completed script in a supportive, inspiring environment.

Taking place entirely online, the Northern Exposure: Short Film Script Lab will see writers work together in small groups as they take their ideas from short form treatments to step outlines and, finally, completed drafts.

The programme will run between June – November 2020. Participants will need to commit to attending 5 online group sessions, including an Introduction to Screenwriting Session, as well as a Talent Connect event at Aesthetica Short Film Festival. In addition to attending the Lab workshops, there will be some writing work required in-between the group sessions.

Participation in the Northern Exposure: Short Film Script Lab is free and open to writers working in any creative discipline who have an idea for a short film under 15 minutes in length.

As they are hosting the workshops remotely, all you’ll need to take part is a reliable internet connection and a device that supports video conferencing. Script Lab participants should be able to commit to attending development sessions and completing writing work in addition to the workshops.
