The Play Lottery is a playwriting contest for writers based in the East of England, where the winning play will be chosen totally at random.
It’s difficult for playwrights to get their work staged, and being successful can often feel like winning the lottery.
So with that in mind, the Play Lottery is a playwriting contest with a twist – the winner will be chosen at complete random.
Writers based in the East of England can enter with a one-person show. The winner will be selected by lucky dip and will receive a cash prize of £100, feedback from professional playwrights, and their show being staged as a script-in-hand reading at the Mercury Theatre Studio in Colchester on Thursday 18th April.
