Job Description
If you have a piece of Theatre that is radical, exciting and needs a chance to be shared and seen, get in touch for our second scratch night!
We are looking to programme pieces of 15 mins or less, which self-define as politically engaged. The night will be at Walthamstow Trades Hall, which is a members run CIU club, 2nd July 7:30pm. It will be a relaxed sharing with some tech capabilities, and the venue is wheelchair accessible. All artists will be given an equal share of the ticket sales after technician fees.
We feel very loose about our definitions of what theatre is and what counts as political work: it could be story about a political movement/group/leader; work that speaks to or is created by those who are typically excluded from theatre spaces; work that dismantles assumptions of what the process of theatre creation looks like; stories about Utopia; something completely different that you feel is important to be shared.
If you are an artist or a writer (or something else) with an idea that you would like to try out and feel like it fits the brief, have a look at the submission form. If you’re not sure, drop us an email.
We like weird, we like radical, we like imperfection, and we like curiosity!
We are committed to dismantling all elements of structural oppression and want the event to reflect this.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions.
