Writing the Short Film Accelerator is the result of over ten years of writing and making award-winning short films, collaborating with independent artists at Foliage Films and Covert Firmament, and judging for leading festivals across the UK and USA.
Session 1: Monday 5th of May, 7-8.30pm Preparing the ground and unpacking the emotional range.
Session 2: Wednesday, 7th May, 7-8.30pm Structuring your screenplay.
Session 3: Sunday, 11th May, 10am-11.30am Generating scenes.
Session 4: Monday, 12th May, 7-8.30pm Creating Characters.
Session 5: Wednesday, 14th May, 7-8.30pm, writing dialogue.
Session 6: Sunday, 18th May, 10 a.m.-11.30 Rewriting and bringing it all together.
Over two weeks you will immerse yourself in the best of short film writing and making and leave with the ideas you need as well as the tools to make the best possible start – and beyond.
Buckle up and get ready to journey as we explore this wonderful form. An excellent way to start filmmaking. The course is suitable for screenwriters and writer-directors, as well as those looking to pivot from other forms of writing (prose, poetry, plays).
Over two weeks of workshops totalling 9 hours with guest industry speakers and a curation of leading films to watch. The training is available at £120.
