Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Beardance Theatre – Texts in Isolation
Description: Beardance Theatre are looking for five new texts for the next instalment of their ‘Texts in Isolation’ series of audio shorts.
Pieces must be up to 5 minutes long and be in response to the theme of ‘isolation’. This doesn’t mean that it should be about COVID or lockdown, but it also doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t! It can be a short scene, a monologue, a poem – almost anything goes! The only requirement is that you give your open, honest response to the brief.
Why is it so great? If ever there was an opportunity with a timely theme, this is it! We know lots of you are at home at the moment (maybe even in isolation) so this is a good chance to flex those writing muscles and to be in with a chance of having your work made into an audio short. Anyone can apply and you’ve got until 23 January to send them your work.
