Job description
High-Rise Avenue is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic freelance Dramaturg to support the development of a new play, HAIR POLICE between April and June 2021.
The Dramaturg will attend dramaturgy meetings (via Zoom), attend readings and providing detailed script and treatment reports.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills and a strong understanding of the themes of the play.
Remuneration: £100 per script report, £50 per treatment report, £20 per hour for meetings
The project is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
About the play
Brianna has been offered a promotion at work and is due to marry the man of her dreams. Life is looking good. While attending an Afro/Caribbean natural hair exhibition, Briana starts to question her perception of beauty and how she views her type 4 hair. When Brianna makes the decision to ‘free the fro’ her promotion hangs in the balance and the ignored cracks in her relationship begin to widen.
