The Customs House in South Tyneside is thrilled to be able to offer a new opportunity for five writers to have 15 minutes of their play performed as a rehearsed reading by professional actors as part of an evening of new writing on Friday 11 June at 7.30pm.
They are seeking submissions which fit the brief, ‘a sense of place’, and are particularly keen to hear unheard stories and voices.
They would love to hear from anyone who has a story to share, not only those who have previous writing experience.
There will be four actors available for each play, so you may prefer to write for these or for the option of multi-roles.
Successful writers will be given a report on the script following the rehearsed reading, and each will be offered the opportunity to have a meeting with The Customs House to support the work’s development or progression.
Interested writers should submit the following:
- Name, location, and a brief biography.
- Title of play, a brief synopsis and up to 15 minutes of their play.
Entries should be sent to Leah Strug, Programming and Audience Development Manager : Leah@customshouse.co.uk
