The second session in the series will arrive on the members site on 1st June and will cover…
Rent
Known as ‘the musical that defined a generation’ – with its
pop-rock score and diversity of cast and storytelling, Rent became a
revolutionary force on Broadway when it opened in 1995. Helping to change the face of musicals as we know them, for many musical theatre writers and fans alike, Rent was their way into theatre or the show that made them fall in love with the genre. In its representation of minority groups its foregrounding of LGBTQ+ characters, it was for its time, a huge shift
in a mostly white, straight musical theatre landscape.
