Opportunities – Pick of the Week: Bitter Pill Theatre – The Painkiller Project latest submission window opens 5 July

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: The Painkiller Project latest submission window opens 5 July

Description: The Painkiller Project is a playwriting project that runs every other month from Bitter Pill Theatre with a £200 prize for each winning play. The winning play will be produced and released on The Painkiller Podcast. They are looking for short plays of 500 – 1500 words long for 1 or 2 actors only.

Why is it so great?  Take this as your warning that the next Painkiller project window opens on 5 July! That gives you plenty of time to get your short script ready for this brilliant opportunity! Winning plays not only receive £200 but will be released on the Painkiller Podcast (which is most definitely worth a listen to by the way!). Previous plays have been performed by the likes of Tamsin Greig, Miriam Margolyes, Toby Jones, Noma Dumezweni, Jason Watkins and Jessica Barden – so why not give it a go for a chance to be involved? As said above the window opens on 5 July and it closes on  8 July so get cracking!
