The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is looking for a Writer in Residence to manage and deliver the teaching, assessment and recruitment of writing students on the Guildhall School’s new MA in Opera Making and Writing, in partnership with the Head of Composition. The successful post-holder will also develop and grow a new cohort of writing students in the Guildhall School, not just in relation to the MA in Opera Making & Writing but also potentially in relation to the Doctoral Programme. He/she will manage the quality of the learning experience offered to writing students within the Guildhall School, ensuring that the teaching and assessment arrangements are appropriate to meet the learning aims and objectives of the relevant modules.
To be successful in your application you will have an active professional profile, particularly in the fields of opera and theatre, that will make a significant contribution to the Guildhall School’s wider Research culture; a Doctoral level postgraduate qualification is also advisable. You will be an accomplished Writer with significant standing in the field of creative writing and also in theatre and music more generally. You will also need to have significant teaching and supervisory experience, particularly at Masters and ideally at Doctoral level.
Salary range £35,300 – £40,060 pro-rata (including inner London weighting, depending on experience)
0.5 fraction, 17.5 hours per week
