Sky Blue Theatre accepting one-act plays for British Theatre Challenge (£15 fee)

Sky Blue Theatre Company is now accepting submissions of one-act plays for the 2015 British Theatre Challenge competition.

What you get:  Your play will be staged and performed by a professional director and actors at the Courtyard Theatre in London on the 4th and 5th of July.  Writers will be given written assessments of their work and considered for publication by Lazy Bee Scripts.  The winning play will be voted on by the audience, with its writer receiving a prize of £250.

What you pay:  Entries must be submitted with full payment of £15 per play.  (Entrants may submit any number of plays and each play must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee.)

What to submit:  Your play should meet the following guidelines:

  • Plays must be written for the stage for more than one actor with a running time of between 10 and 30 minutes.
  • To preserve anonymity, the author’s name must be removed from all pages of the script. All pages to be numbered.
  • The first page of each script should include a completed play synopsis of no more than 50 words, a list of characters, a description of setting.

How to apply:  Each play script must be accompanied by an entry form which can be downloaded from this page.

Scripts and entry forms must be submitted together as attachments in Word or PDF documents with the title of the play in the subject line to: newplay@skybluetheatre.com.
