International Festival Encounters

Running during the world’s biggest international arts festival in Scotland’s capital, this inspiring five-day course is for ambitious producers, programmers and performers from all over the globe who want to develop their artistic entrepreneurship skills and experience.
About the course: The programme runs from the 21 and 25 August 2015. Over the five days you will immerse yourself in events running in the Edinburgh International Festival and Festival Fringe, engage and network with inspiring artists, directors and producers, and share and reflect critically on your own and others’ artistic practice. A highlight of the programme will be a series of encounters with leading figures in the arts, including the Edinburgh International Festival Director, Fergus Linehan. Every element of the programme is tailored towards enabling you to develop the knowledge and skills required to engage with your practice at a higher level.
The programme is offered in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the University of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh International Festival and will take place in Edinburgh at Evolution House, Edinburgh College of Art.
How to apply: Entry to this course is subject to a selection process and all applicants are required to submit a CV and covering letter explaining what you hope to achieve through participation in the course. These can be emailed to summerschools@rcs.ac.uk.
(There is no application deadline published, but presumably you should apply as soon as you can in case the course fills.)
What you pay: There is a cost of £450 to attend the five day course.
