The Bread & Roses Theatre offers one Emerging Theatre Company a one-week-run as part of their Winter Season 2016. This includes two technical rehearsal days and five performance nights free of charge, for which the company will also receive 90% of the box office takings.
Technical rehearsal days will be Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th January 2016, 12pm-6pm. Performance nights will be Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th January 2016 at 7.30pm. During the run the winning company will be the main company performing in the space and may set-up the venue and technical equipment according to their needs.
About the Bread & Roses Theatre: The Bread & Roses Theatre is an award-winning and innovative fringe pub theatre in Clapham, South London, which launched in November 2014. Since its launch the 50-seat theatre has hosted anything from one-off-shows to three-week-runs and welcomed award-winning theatre companies as well as new ensembles. It has immediately been able to build up a busy and diverse quality programme, which is quickly going from strength to strength. Located upstairs at the Bread & Roses Pub in Clapham, and within walking distance of several Underground and Overground stations in London Travel Zone 2 the venue also sits in a brilliant location. From the very beginning The Bread & Roses Theatre has also been dedicated to providing fair opportunities to companies and theatre-makers from all backgrounds, by exclusively offering box office splits instead of hire fees.
With the Bread & Roses Emerging Companies Competition the theatre would now like to go a step even further and offer one company a one-week-run where they receive 90% of box office takings to help them build up their work.
