RE:act – The Pianist of Willesden Lane brings together four emerging writers, directors and a group of actors to respond to the story, themes and characters within the Mainstage show.
Written in 24 hours, rehearsed at quick fire speed and performed on the stage of St. James Studio, these impulsive pieces will then be followed by a conversation with an established theatre creative and there will be the opportunity for both emerging and established artists to meet post-show to further discuss ideas.
The evening is curated by Alastair Knights who directed the sell-out 2014 main house production, Putting it Together, and Matthew Keeler and Lauren McGee for St. James Theatre.
The aim is for RE:act to become a playground and networking event for young theatre makers, actors and creatives to meet, form creative partnerships and be part of future RE:act evenings.

“There was a different kind of anticipation, an excitement at seeing something so newly formed. The intimacy of the studio space and the presence of the creative team also heightened this sense of activity. As a regular theatregoer this difference was stimulating, and hearing the post-show discussion between the young playwrights, James Phillips and Creative Director James Albrecht only enriched the experience further.” Everything Theatre
