IMDb Script to Screen Award 2016 (Fee £15/10) – with a special pre-screening offer, today only!

The idea behind the IMDb Script to Screen Award is simple: anyone can submit a script for a short film with a running time of 10 minutes or under. These are read by the creative writing team at Bath Spa University and the top five are selected.

What you get:  The shortlist is rehearsed and performed in June by Bath Spa’s drama students in front of a panel of industry judges and a live audience. Both the judges and the audience vote for the best script and the winner receives £5,000 cash and £1,000 worth of hire kit from 180º On Set Solutions or Visual Impact (UK filmmakers only) to turn their script into a film. Plus the winner receives an IMDb Enamel Badge and an attractive, glass-etched award.  We screen the winning film at the Bath Film Festival and ensure that it is screened at other film festivals across the country.

Application fee:  £15 (£10 concessions)

How to apply:  You can submit your script via their website, using the WithoutABox  application form.  (Be sure to read the competition rules before applying.)

Special pre-screening offer – ends 28 April:  Former Head of International at Sky Pictures, Capitol Films Development Executive and Paramount Pictures story editor, Valencia Haynes is offering feedback on the your scripts.

Valencia is offering to read your script and give you feedback before officially submitting to the 2016 IMDb Script to Screen Award for evaluation and selection.  The purpose of this is to provide free, objective industry experience on fine-tuning the screenplays.

To take advantage of this, you need to send a Word version of your script to: scriptsurgeon@bathfilmfestival.org.uk by April 28.

Deadline:  9 May 2016
