Aberdeen Performing Arts are giving a call out to writers from or based in the North East for script submissions of 8-10 minute excerpts of new writing inspired by the theme True North… What or where is True North? Is it a place, a state of mind or both?
To be suitable for a Scratch Night, scripts must be 8-10 minute long and be able to be performed with a maximum of three performers. They can be short, stand-alone pieces or an excerpt from a longer script. Your excerpt should be possible to stage with minimal props, sound and lighting requirements and the organisers ask that you consider copyright when thinking about including music. Other than that, you’re being urged to be creative and interpret the theme in whatever way you like.
The selected entries will be rehearsed and performed script in hand by a professional cast under direction as part of The Lemon Tree Scratch Nights event on Tuesday, 8 September at 7.30pm.
