ATG is seeking a talented individual working in theatre, who will work alongside a
videographer to create a captivating video response that delves into their personal journey of
entering the live entertainment industry.
The video should be no longer than 2 minutes and
should creatively convey the individual’s experiences, challenges, and triumphs on their path to
becoming involved in the world of theatre. The aim is to inspire and engage young people from a
wide range of demographics, offering an intimate glimpse into the passion and dedication of the
artist.
Objective: The primary goal of this commission is to co-create a visually compelling and
emotionally resonant video response that reflects the individual’s unique journey into the
industry. The video should showcase their creative process, share significant moments, and
highlight the various influences and factors that shaped their career. Ultimately, we want the
audience to feel inspired and motivated by your story to consider a future career within theatre
themselves.
Requirements:
• Emerging artists should currently be working within the UK theatre industry and still be
early career (5 years or less).
• You could be working in any area of the theatre industry, including but not limited to
performers, choreographers, directors, technicians, designers, stage managers…
• Living within London
• We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals from under-represented groups
including those from lower socio-economic, d/Deaf or disabled & Black, Asian & ethnic
backgrounds.
Deliverables:
• Work alongside a videographer (commissioned by ATG) to make a short film about your
career so far, your job role and what inspired you to join the theatre industry.
• A brief artist statement (250 words max) explaining the inspiration and creative choices
behind the video response.
Timeline:
• Deadline for Submission of Application: Sunday 16 July, 11.59pm
• Artist selection process completed by Friday 28 July
• Film Completion by January 2024

Interested artists should submit the following materials to be considered for this commission:
1. Artist portfolio/CV showcasing previous work and relevant experience.
2. Proposed concept or outline for the video response.
3. Estimated timeline for completion (please include any dates you are unavailable for
filming)
