This Autumn Collective Acting Studio will be doing a New Writing Festival – which is part our third-year BA course.
As part of this project, Collective will do Research and Development for nine new plays. Each R and D will involve the third-years working on a rehearsed reading full-time for a week, with a sharing for invited guests on the last day.
The New Writing Festival will take place over a six-week period from wc 15th September to wc 20th November (slots within that period are negotiable to suit your schedule.)
Are you a writer? Do you have a script that you are currently working on that you would like to be considered for the New Writing Festival?
We are looking for plays that are:
- Written for a minimum of five characters
- That have not been performed before/ are currently in development
This is an opportunity for you to have a group of actors, and a rehearsal space, for free for a week, and to see your piece workshop and developed.
One of the third-year degree students will direct the project, or if you have a particular director who wishes to be attached to the project instead, we can consider that. Note: we are not able to facilitate payment for directors.
Please note that there are no acting opportunities available for the New Writing Festival. These will be taken by the third-year degree students. We are looking for writing submissions only.
If you would like your script to be considered, please email me your script, with a casting breakdown, and an overview of the piece by 9.00pm on August 31st.
Please send full play scripts (minimum 1 hour duration, casts of 5 and above preferred). Incomplete drafts will be considered
