BBC: The Biggest Weekend seeking comedy monologues

Budding comedy writers, here is your chance to gain your first BBC credit! If you can write a funny 60 second monologue film based on the theme of music festivals and have a strong knowledge of our festival cities, then keep reading.

BBC Writersroom and The Biggest Weekend are joining forces to develop and produce four short films across the four nations (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland), written by you, as part of The Biggest Weekend’s Fringe.

This is your chance to bring bold and original comedy ideas to life and have your words performed and filmed by professionals.

How to apply: read the full details on the BBC Writersroom site.

  1. The brief for this commission is extremely specific and clearly geared towards younger, regional writers. Would be better to see the BBC offering commissions with a looser brief that would be open to a wider scope of writers.
