HOW IT WORKS
Apply: Send an example of your writing as a PDF to info@ukmuslimfilm.org to be considered for the programme. Please send one example of your work, the number of pages are to be determined by you – just enough for us to get a sense of your voice and writing style.
Selection: Four writers will be chosen to take part in this six-month mentorship.
Mentor pairing: Each mentee will be matched with an industry professional selected by BBC Writers.
Regular meetings: You’ll meet online with your mentor throughout the six months for one-to-one guidance and feedback.
Ongoing support: You’ll receive additional support from BBC Writers and UKMF to help you get the most out of your mentorship – including resources, advice, and structured guidance.
Development: Your mentor will help you strengthen your writing, explore your voice, and understand pathways into the TV and film industry.
Final showcase: The programme will conclude with an industry showcase event, bringing together mentees, mentors, and professionals to celebrate your work.
Deadline: Submissions will be open throughout October, though the application window may close early if we receive a high volume of entries.
