Submissions are now open for a brand new edition of Voices From Home, Broken Silence Theatre’s Off-West-End award-nominated platform for emerging writers from the South East of England. Following previous acclaimed editions at Theatre503 and Arcola, Volume 7 of the festival will be staged in early August.
Full submission info for writers:
- Open to writers from the South East of England
- Writers must currently live, or originally come from, one of the following areas: Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey or Sussex
- Script Length: 10 pages maximum
- Scripts must be able to be performed by 1 or 2 actors
- Scripts can’t have previously been staged/produced/published
- Writers can’t have previously had a full-length production of their work anywhere in the world (3 weeks+)
- Only one script can be submitted per writer
- There’s no specific brief for Voices From Home but submissions that include regional settings or address regional themes are of particular interest
- Broken Silence Theatre are particularly keen to encourage submissions from Global Majority and Working Class writers (please let them know if this applies in your submission)
