COMMON GROUND: Career Progression as a Working-Class Artist in Leeds

West Yorkshire Playhouse is delighted to be working with COMMON, an arts organisation which exists to support the UK theatre industry in achieving greater socio-economic diversity, and help working-class artists build sustainable careers in theatre, to deliver their COMMON GROUND initiative.

COMMON GROUND is an inclusive, supportive discussion exclusively aimed at artists based in Leeds and the surrounding areas who self-identify as working-class.

This initiative will offer a platform for working-class artists to discuss the barriers to career progression that they face in UK theatre, and specifically within the Leeds area, alongside offering their suggestions towards opportunities which could be created to help artists overcome these barriers.

This event is wheelchair-accessible, baby/child friendly and inclusive of working-class artists from intersectional backgrounds across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, gender binaries and disabilities. Please contact david@commontheatre.co.uk with any specific requirements, questions or access needs in advance of the event.
