Following its inaugural production in Eastbourne in February, Dark Unicorn Productions, founded in 2018 by Paddy Cooper and Eleanor Stourton, have now opened their doors to writers worldwide to submit new works for stage to them for consideration for a future production relationship around the company’s other work on revivals of major plays, which have something to say to contemporary audiences.
Works must be:
- For live stage performance
- A minimum of 60 minutes in length
- Have cast of no more than five
- Conform to the company’s desire to create challenging, thought-provoking but above all entertaining theatre for the world we live in.
As the company is committed to programming as broad and progressive a range of work and giving voice to both the mainstream and the marginalised, no further limitations are set.
How to apply: send scripts, with contact details to darkunicornsubmissions@gmail.com
As the company is small in size, they cannot offer a feedback service, but all scripts will be read and those authors whose work they are interested in progressing will be contacted.
Deadline: 30 June 2019
