The MA Dramatic Writing at Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins is delighted to announce the Year of Experimentation: Part Two which will take place as part of the inaugural London Writers Week.
The culmination of a year long exploration into what dramatic writing can be in the UK will be taking place on Wednesday 8 July 2015, with a day-long series of masterclasses on the theme of teaching dramatic writing.
The Year of Experimentation: part two is the second part in a two year investigation into the future of dramatic writing training in the UK being run by the new MA Dramatic Writing at Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins
The free day will include discussions and Masterclasses by Masters and industry partners who have led the way in dramatic writing training in the UK including:
- David Edgar, playwright and founder of the UK’s first MA on Playwriting
- John Yorke, creator of the BBC Writers Academy
- Philip Shelley, creator of the Channel 4 screenwriting course
- Lucy Kerbel, creator of Tonic Theatre
- Jennifer Tuckett, course leader of the MA Dramatic Writing
- Steve Winter, Executive Director of the Kevin Spacey Foundation
- Caroline Jester, former Dramaturg at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre who has led the way on international collaborative projects
- Natasha Freedman, Head of ENO Baylis, ENO
- Kate Rowland, creator of BBC Writersroom
The Year of Experimentation will be followed by the MA Dramatic Writing Graduation Showcase in the evening
